March 2011

Mini vacation to the National Harbor, we stayed one night in the Wyndham Hotel.

February 2011

We had a very warm day later in the month nearly 70! So we all went outside for some fun in the yard! Tyler enjoyed the swing!

This month we had a little scare when a neighbor's house caught on fire during a very windy day, it started what they called a "brush fire" I would say a forest fire but in comparrison to the other official forest fire that was occuring on the same day in the national forest, ours was small. Our neighborhood was partially evacutated, they fire department recommended we evacuate. So I took the kids and headed to mom's house. Chad stayed back to make sure things would be ok. It started in the early part of the afternoon, by the evening time Chad was pretty sure the fire was out of our way...it was completely put out until later in the night. Fire crews stayed around all night to keep in eye on the hot spots.

Winter 2011

Going to try and update more often! (yeah right!) This winter was not as bad as 2010! We had a few minor snow storms. And most of the time school was canceled so I didn't have to worry about driving. Kirsten has enjoy her year as a kindergartener. We have decided to try homeschooling for the following years. So I will become the 1st grade teacher, prek/4 teacher & tinytot teacher. Concentrating more on Kirsten of course but encouraging and teaching Jack along the way. Tyler will probably keep us busy but I am planning on some learning for him as well! Wish me luck! I am working on our "classroom"...collecting as much free or cheap stuff. Still have to decide on a curriculum for Kirsten...I have narrowed down my choices and will decide after June's homeschool convention. I am looking forward to this new challenge and also looking forward to sleeping in a little bit or at least not having to load all the kids in the car so early in the morning!
